Claudia has over 25 years of experience with thoroughbreds, however she is keen to help horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes, whether they are in full training or just hanging out in the field; they can all benefit. If your aim is a local show, happy hacking, dressage, show jumping, eventing, racing or “just because”, Claudia would be delighted to be part of your team.
She began riding bareback on her donkey at the age of two, and having encountered ponies, progressed through Pony Club and then began to ride work on racehorses at the weekends for various trainers, on both flat and jump horses.
Claudia’s approach is driven by her passion to make a difference and be effective, for there to be a clear “before” and “after” for both the horse and the rider. She intends to gain the trust of both you and your horse to be efficient, reliable and provide a positive experience.
She began her quest to provide equine therapy by qualifying in Holistic Massage for Humans. This is a prerequisite for the Equine Massage course for several reasons.
Humans and horses have similar skeletal and muscular structures and many of the same treatment techniques are used.
By training on humans the therapist can improve and can utilise feedback which from a human can be more easily understood whereas from a horse the feedback can be more refined and subtle.
In addition if a rider is lopsided then the chances are the horse will be, so being able to treat both horse and rider is a massive benefit.
She undertakes regular Continuous Professional Development courses across the UK and keeps abreast of publications to remain at the forefront of latest developments in the treatment world and ensure her knowledge is up to date. This maintains a fresh and appropriate approach for each client, every time.
